The title says it all.

Harpoon Brewery Oktoberfest

The beloved $10 chicken hat

Better view of the chicken

Chinese lanterns in Meemaw's garden

Wellwood Orchard

Sunny but it was only in the 30s

We found apples!

And we found leaves!

and more apples...

Then we found the view

and our longitude and latitude

and finally, leaves.

The Old, Weird America:

Eric Beltz, Good Luck Assholes: Thomas Jefferson's Vision of Death

Beltz, FU Tree
& some from the park…

"Reflex"

Steven Siegel's newspaper installation

Ferns growing on top of the papers...

& spiders.

Pine Sharks

Coneheads.

Two Black Hearts
Many more things in the museum that I couldn’t take pictures of…video instillation about the Winchester Mystery House and a room with paper-mache leaf covered walls, tree trunks made out of magazines and a floor made out of patchwork fabric were 2 I tried to take pictures of but got yelled at…
“The Old Weird America” ended today but most of the sculptures are permanent.

This summer seemed really short, and I think I’ve hit the point where time starts to go too fast instead of not fast enough.
Turned 21. People ask me what I want to be when I grow up and expect me to know the answer. And today is my last first day of school. But then I watch this funny ad from Spain and I don’t feel so bad about having to make life decisions: http://creativity-online.com/work/lucchetti-wheelbarrow/17161
I’ve been thinking about selling some Halloween cards on here with drawings I’ve done…anyone interested in buying?

No really, there’s a point in Acadia called Great Head. And yes I laughed every time I saw a sign for it.

Like this sign, I laughed and took a picture.

All jokes aside, the views along the hike were amazing.

And we saw whales!

There was some very graceful rock climbing involved.

The view was worth it.

Self timer is key

But like every day, the fog rolled in...

The hike back was equally graceful.

Great picture by Josh
We finished up the last 2 days in a Bar Harbor hotel.

The view from our room.
Never included a picture of our tent…

Again, self timer is key.

Josh & our spacious tent.

Serious frog camouflage

The only sunniness (questionable word?) we saw all day.

Popcorn flower.

Fog at Sand Beach

More of Sand Beach.

Only an hour later...

...the fog rolled in.
More from our last hike later.

Along the walk from Sand Beach to Otter Point, we took these:

Spiderweb INSANITY!!
These little webs were everywhere – the fog never lifted, so they stayed covered with dew which made them all easy to see against the trees. Google says these are called Bowl and Doily webs [nerd alert]. Anyway…

A web.

And another...no spiders in sight.

Thunder Hole.

Maine fog.

Leave it to us to find another web.

Slugs! Have to give Josh credit for this.

These berries were growing all along the path.

Triangular tidal pool.

Leopard slug we stumbled upon.
And I have no ocean views, just cliffs that drop off into fog:

First day in Acadia:

Food is important.

Moi & the view.

Recent experiences have taught me not to go near cliffs or high places, so I stayed back and took pictures.

Josh & Bubble Rock.

Me again...apparently really loving this solo pictures.

Back to humidity, sirens, claustrophobic trains and Massholes (yes, it is true, being here turns you in to a mean angry person).
I’ve been camping in Acadia National Park in Maine since Saturday – unbelievable. I really don’t feel I can say too much about it, I would spoil what I can just show in pictures.
So here are the first of many great pictures that Josh & I took. These are from watching the sunrise at Cadillac Mountain, which is the first place in the US to see the sun. Getting up at 4:15 during vacation was totally worth it.

A little sleepy, and in awe.

Us & the sun.

I won't try to say anything for this one, except beautiful.

Fog in the valley below lasted the rest of the day

Flower growing between the rocks.

I am so into this exhibit.
As DeCordova describes it, Old, Weird America is the first exhibit to “explore the widespread resurgence of folk imagery and mythic history in recent art from the United States.”

Divine Fury, David McDermott and Peter McGough

The Good Hunt #2, Aaron Morse

The Good Hunt, Aaron Morse

1957, Charlie White
DeCordova is 20 minutes outside of Boston and free every Friday night in July after 5 pm.
