Many more things in the museum that I couldn’t take pictures of…video instillation about the Winchester Mystery House  and a room with paper-mache leaf covered walls, tree trunks made out of magazines and a floor made out of patchwork fabric were 2 I tried to take pictures of but got yelled at…

“The Old Weird America” ended today but most of the sculptures are permanent.

Oh no, life is happening.

This summer seemed really short, and I think I’ve hit the point where time starts to go too fast instead of not fast enough.

Turned 21. People ask me what I want to be when I grow up and expect me to know the answer. And today is my last first day of school. But then I watch this funny ad from Spain and I don’t feel so bad about having to make life decisions: http://creativity-online.com/work/lucchetti-wheelbarrow/17161

I’ve been thinking about selling some Halloween cards on here with drawings I’ve done…anyone interested in buying?

Acadia: Great Head

No really, there’s a point in Acadia called Great Head. And yes I laughed every time I saw a sign for it.

Like this sign, I laughed and took a picture.

All jokes aside, the views along the hike were amazing.

Acadia: Ocean Path

Along the walk from Sand Beach to Otter Point, we took these:

Spiderweb INSANITY!!

Spiderweb INSANITY!!

These little webs were everywhere – the fog never lifted, so they stayed covered with dew which made them all easy to see against the trees. Google says these are called Bowl and Doily webs [nerd alert]. Anyway…

A web.

And another.

And another...no spiders in sight.

Acadia Renewal

Back to humidity, sirens, claustrophobic trains and Massholes (yes, it is true, being here turns you in to a mean angry person).

I’ve been camping in Acadia National Park in Maine since Saturday – unbelievable. I really don’t feel I can say too much about it, I would spoil what I can just show in pictures.

So here are the first of many great pictures that Josh & I took. These are from watching the sunrise at Cadillac Mountain, which is the first place in the US to see the sun. Getting up at 4:15 during vacation was totally worth it.

A little sleepy.

I am so into this exhibit.

As DeCordova describes it, Old, Weird America is the first exhibit to “explore the widespread resurgence of folk imagery and mythic history in recent art from the United States.”
